Camp FunDome is offered in sessions that range from 1 to 5 days in length. Our sessions are synchronized with all gaps/breaks in the Washoe County School District Calendar. Thus, full-week sessions are offered in summer months, Fall break, and Spring break while single-day sessions are offered for teacher development days and select holidays. Participation in Camp FunDome is only available on a full-session basis (i.e. families cannot sign up for just part of a session).
Some other important session details to be aware of includes:
Online Registration
All campers must be registered online prior to their start date.
South 40 Field Trips
Each day at Camp FunDOme will include a “walking” field trip to South 40 (our next door neighbor) for thirty minutes of arcade play for ALL campers. Camp FunDome will cover the full cost of these trips (thus your child will not need to bring money). This is a significant expense and we kindly ask that families recognize this perk at a value $10 per day that is included in the registration fee.
Lunch & Snack
Lunch, snacks, and drinks are NOT included in the registration fee. Parents must provide a daily lunch, snack, and drinks for their child.

Questions About FunDome
How can I tell if this is the right camp for my child?
The activities that Camp FunDome offers are time-tested and proven to appeal to the vast majority of children. Camp was designed with the “average” kid in mind and typically provides great experiences for all kids, regardless of a child’s athletic ability or social ability. We encourage you to give us a call at 775-328-1301 if you have questions or are unsure if Camp FunDome is right for your child.
Are sports the only activities offered at Camp FunDome?
No. Camp FunDome offers much more than sports! We are a “Fun” camp not a “sports” camp. Games, field trips, leisure time, theme days, carnivals, contests and more will also be featured at camp to entertain campers. With all that said, FunDome campers will play many different sports (such as soccer, basketball, dodgeball, capture the flag, etc…) every day at FunDome. We do not coach or lead drills. Instead, we emphasize participation, sportsmanship, and effort to make sure that all kids enjoy the games they play in. The wide-variety of activities that we offer daily is something completely unique to Camp FunDome and makes every day special for our campers.
Can you give me some more details about camp activities?
We suggest giving us a call for a quick overview of how camp works, but here are a few details to help you better grasp Camp FunDome:
- Kids will spend most of their time with their assigned group. The same counselor team will lead the same group all day and all week.
- Each group has their own unique schedule to follow which changes daily. Most days will feature 7 different activities per group.
- Some sports are played more frequently than others. For example, soccer is played almost every day but pickleball might be a once per week activity.
- All campers get a free play period after lunch every day. During this time, campers do not need to stay in a group. Instead, campers can choose where to play and who to play with. The FunDome staff will supervise all areas of play at this time.
- Some camp activities involve multiple groups (ex. Dodgeball or capture the flag).
- Week long camps will feature an “All Camp” event once per week (usually on Friday). These are carnival style events with the various stations run by the FunDome staff.
Can you tell me more about the groups at Camp FunDome?
Each group at camp will have about 15 kids. Groups are set first by gender then by age (most groups will only have around 1.5 years of age difference between the youngest and oldest child in a group). Each group at camp will be led by two FunDome staff members (ages 16 – 22). Almost all groups at camp will also get supervision from an unpaid Counselor in Training (ages 13 – 15), for a total supervision ratio of 5 to 1.
Can you tell me more about the walking field trips to South 40?
Each day at camp will include 30 minutes of arcade time at South 40 (our neighbor). This will be a walking field trip for all campers and Sportsdome will cover the cost (no need to send money with your child). Camp groups will walk together to South 40, led by the Camp FunDome staff. The walk is approximately 2 minutes and it is very safe (there is no traffic/busy streets). Once at South 40, the FunDome Staff will give campers pre-loaded game cards to play arcade games for 30 minutes. You will never need to send money with your child for them to participate. These trips will always be held in the afternoon within the window of 12:45 – 2:45 pm. Camp FunDome will take turns with groups during this window taking a third of the camp for each trip.
It is important to note that Camp FunDome firmly believes in keeping kids active and off screens. With that said, our full camp day is 6.5 hours long. This is a very long day for even the most athletic of kids. We are quite confident that a 30-minute break from sports activity will be a big win for all involved (the kids, the staff, parents, etc.). We invite parents to call the director for more information on these trips which we believe will be part of the special experience that only Camp FunDome can offer.
Parents should assume that every day at Camp FunDome will include a single 30-minute play session at South 40. Please note that we will occasionally skip this trip in our week-long camps (thus campers will go 4 out of 5 days in week-long camps).
Also, it is important to note that kids will be required to go to South 40 with their camp group during assigned time to do so. There is no “stay back” option from these trips.
Will my child get bored at Camp FunDome if I sign up for several weeks?
Camp FunDome was constructed with a schedule of weeks in mind for our campers. Due to the wide variety of activity that we provide with a changing daily schedule, Camp FunDome has a unique ability to entertain kids for weeks at a time. No two days are ever the same at Camp FunDome and we find that our campers stay engaged and entertained over long periods of time. Simply put, boredom is pretty much never an issue here.
How does Lunch/Snack/Drinks work for campers?
Lunch/snack/drinks are NOT included in the registration fee. Parents will need to send lunch, snack, and drink(s) with their child to camp every day.
Does Camp FunDome offer Morning/After Care?
Yes. AfterCare is available to all Camp FunDome families for an additional fee. This service starts at 3:30 pm when the camp pick up window ends. Any child at camp at 3:30 pm is automatically checked into AfterCare.
Please note the following AfterCare information:
- 3:30 pm – 4:00 pm will feature a sports clinic (kids will be grouped by age to learn a specific skill or two). The sport and skill will change each day and will be determined by the staff (no set schedule).
- Kids will transition to the Party Room at 4:00 pm.
- Camp FunDome will provide a snack to all kids at 4:00 pm (parents should feel welcome to also send a snack for AfterCare).
- Kids can play Legos, magna-tiles, board games, simple arts & crafts, or just chill until 5:00 pm.
- Parents must pick up by 5:00 pm. Penalties will be enforced for any child not picked up by this time.
What happens if I am late picking up my child from camp?
Any child still at camp at 3:30 pm is automatically checked into AfterCare. If you pre-register for AfterCare, we will have your child on a list. If you are not registered and need last-second AfterCare, it is ideal to give us advance notice as soon as possible. Our preferred method of notification for these instances is 1) e-mail 2) phone call.
What happens if I am late picking up my child from AfterCare?
Any child still at camp at 5:00 pm will trigger the following fees:
1) $20 late pick up fee per child
2) $1 per minute per child for each minute after 5:00 pm.
We will also start calling all emergency contacts at 5:00 pm.
Can you tell me more about how to register for Camp FunDome?
